Musician Tish Hinojosa was born in San Antonio, Texas, the youngest of 13 children of Mexican immigrant parents. She has recorded 15 albums that cross cultures, languages, and musical genres, including Homeland (1989), the award-winning Culture Swing (1992), and the bilingual children's album Cada Niño/Every Child (1996). Hinojosa has lived and worked in New Mexico, Nashville, Tennesee, and currently divides her time between Austin, Texas and Hamburg, Germany. She has been active with numerous issues such as bilingual education, immigration and farm workers’ rights, and she has performed by invitation at the White House for Bill and Hillary Clinton.
