French Quarter Task Force (New Orleans, La.)

The French Quarter Task Force, referred to also as the Mayor's French Quarter Task Force, or the French Quarter Citizen Task Force, was aimed at addressing the issues of crime, safety, police presence, sanitation, traffic, tourism, schools, and zoning in the Vieux Carré in New Orleans, La., during the Ernest Morial administration (1978-1986). The organization consisted of a board of appointed members as well as property and business owners in the French Quarter community, and was active 1979-1981.
