Black River Literary and Religious Institute (Watertown, N.Y.)
The Black River Literary and Religious Institute was founded by the Watertown Presbytery and the Black River (Congregational) Association in 1836. It soon merged with the Watertown Academy. In May 1846 its name was changed to the Jefferson County Institute.
