American Federation of Grain Millers. Local 48 (Keokuk, Iowa)

American Federation of Grain Millers Local 48 began in the 1930s as a federal union of the AFL. The local was known as the Corn Products Workers Union Local 19931. The AFL organized the National Council of Grain Processors in 1936 and renamed it the American Federation of Grain Processors in 1947. In 1948 the local received its charter as AFGM Local 48 when the AFL chartered the American Federation of Grain Millers.
