Captain (CPT) Henry F. Boyer was born on 31 March 1911 in Annville, Pennsylvania. Boyer studied engineering at Pennsylvania State College from 1930-1934 and was as a member of the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC). While attending school, Boyer was appointed 2nd lieutenant in the Corps of Cadets on 27 September 1932, and captain on 5 October 1933. On 26 July 1934, Boyer was commissioned a 2nd lieutenant in the Corps of Engineers, U.S. Army, where he remained until his discharge as a captain in 6 October 1945. Boyer died in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, on 25 April 1980.
