Since 1944 the ten members of the Jenkins Club, selected from University of Georgia faculty of diverse disciplinary backgrounds, has gathered on the second Thursday of each month in the academic calendar to share dinner, exchange ideas and bridge some of the interdisciplinary gaps in the large and complex modern University. For many years the late Dr. Jack Payne (known in Club parlance as "he who directs") took responsibility for organizing club activities and collecting these materials.
