Harry Throssell studied the social sciences and social work at Birmingham University, the London School of Economics, the Tavistock Institute of Human Relations, and the London Institute of Psychoanalysis, worked in child welfare and psychiatry, and came to Australia in 1966 to teach at the University of Queensland. He has written since undergraduate days in the 1950s in newspapers, journals and books, for three years in the 1970s was an Australian correspondent for The Guardian, London. Now retired, he published 'Levellers Essays' on social justice issues from 1998 to 2004 on website 'http://www.geocities.com/youngmick/levellers/', and currently has an online mini-newspaper at 'http://www.blognow.com.au/journospeak/'.
