Catani, Carlo G. D. E. (Carlo Giorgio Domenico Enrico)., 1852-1918.
Carlo Catani was born April 22nd,1852 and was the son of a merchant. He obtained a degree in civil engineering in Italy and migrated to Australia with two friends, also engineers. He undertook a position as draughtsman with the Lands Department and later joined the Public Works Dept., eventually assuming the role of Chief Engineer. After completing numerous projects, he retired from the Public Works Dept. on May 9th, 1917.
