Until 1950, the Alumni Association relied on volunteers to maintain records of alumnae. In 1950, the Association hired a part-time Executive Secretary. In 1970, the Association hired a full-time Executive Director, whose added responsibilities included the Annual Fund, class reunions and College anniversaries, and placed the office under the Director of Development. In 1973, the office was moved under the Director of External Affairs, then back to the Development Office, and finally to the Admissions Office over the next 2 years. In 1976, the Executive Director became the Director of Alumni Affairs, initiating various programs to increase alumni involvement in the College. In 1986, the office changed its name to the Office of Alumni/Parent Relations, adding the encouragement of Alumni Association Chapters and recruitment to its responsibilities. By 1989, another reorganization had placed the office under the Vice President for Development/Alumni Relations. The office is primarily concerned with social and financial activities. Social programs include class reunions, Lunch with the Arts, publications (Contact, Genisis, and the Alumni Directory), and also the Alumni Chapters. The director also serves on the Parents' Council and edits the Parents' Newsletter. Financial activities include the Annual Fund and Capital Campaign. The office's past administrators include Marie Cullen (held office 1950-1970), Jewel Whitfield (1970-1976), Mary Talbot (1977-1986), Laura Belcastro (1986-1987), Kathleen Hefferman (1987-1989), Michele Meliti (1989-1992), and Mary Murabito (1992- ).
