Courtney, Eva Roberts

Eva Roberts was born ca. 1868 in Indiana. In 1880 she was living with her parents Orisa Stetson and George W. Roberts in Williamsburg, in Wayne County Indiana. From 1888 she was a certified teacher in Cass, Wayne, and Randolph Counties. She was associated with the Richmond Normal School, and the Wayne County Teacher's Association. In 1901 she married Cyrus Betts Courtney and the couple had one son, George William Courtney. By 1920 they were living in Winchester City in Randolph County. Eva served in the Woman's Relief Corps for several years. The WRC is an Auxiliary to the Grand Army of the Republic veteran's organization.
