Maryland. Constitutional Convention, President.
The president was the chief executive officer of the convention. He presided at sessions of the convention and Committee of the Whole, exercising all usual duties and powers of a presiding officer. The president appointed the chairpersons and members of all committees. He also assigned duties to all convention employees, including committee staffs with the consent of the respective chairpersons.
