George T. Harrell, professor of medical research, came to Pennsylvania State University in 1964 to establish the Hershey Medical Center, which opened in 1970. He served as Dean of Penn State College of Medicine and Vice President for Medical Sciences until 1973, when he retired to work as a consultant.
