James Franklin Aldrich, businessman and Illinois congressman, was the son of Congressman William Aldrich. James Franklin Aldrich was born in Two Rivers, Wisconsin in 1853. The family moved to Chicago in April 1861. In 1887 he served as the president of the Cook County Board of Commissioners. Aldrich was elected to Congress in 1893 and in 1897 he was appointed consul general at Havana, Cuba. He died in Chicago in 1933.
