Stanley E. Howe was born in Mass. in 1925 and enlisted in the Army on March 10, 1944 at Fort Devens, Mass. At the time of enlistment he was unmarried, had completed four years of high school, and working as a mechanic. He joined the 10th Mountain Division in Italy and was assigned to Headquarters Company of the 87th Infantry Regiment. Howe attained the rank of Private First Class.
