Swift, John C.
Swift was mustered into Company A of the 18th Indiana Volunteers in August 1861. The regiment served in Missouri and took part in the siege of Vicksburg. In February 1863 Swift was promoted to lieutenant, and on September 1 of that year resigned from the army.
