St James's Church (South Greenough, W.A.)

In 1873 Bishop Hale consecrated the first purpose-built Anglican Church, St James, at South Greenough. The first St Catherine's Church in Greenough was demolished in 1912. The present church, also St Catherine's, was built in 1913. Holy Trinity Church, Wakaway from built in 1903 when the population of the area was in decline and was renovated in 1962. Church of England services were held in Western Australia from the colony's inception in 1829. The Church of England in Australia was established in 1962 and, in 1981, became the Anglican Church of Australia.
