Harmonic Society of Newark (Newark, N.J.)

This Harmonic Society of Newark was the first choral society in Newark and the second in the country to be formed. A group of people met at the Newark Academy on April 23, 1830 and agreed to establish the Society, naming Albert Holbrook its first chair.
