Tivoli Theatre Restoration and Renovation Study Committee (Chattanooga, Tenn.)
Committee chaired by Robert Kirk Walker and supported by a Lyndhurst Foundation grant submitted the first report on the restoration of the Tivoli Theatre, Chattanooga, Tenn., which opened Mar. 19, 1921 as one of the movie palaces of the era; movies were shown in the theater until Aug. 17, 1961; 1987 theatre closed for repairs and reopened Mar. 29, 1989 with a gala performance from opera star Marilyn Horne.
