Austin Revitalization Authority

Hide Profile

The Austin Revitalization Authority (ARA) is a non-profit development corporation that is focused on restoring the cultural and economic viability of the Central East Austin Community. In May of 1996 the ARA contracted with the City of Austin to assist the community in developing the Central East Austin Master Plan and the E.11th and 12th Streets Community Redevelopment Plan. These plans guide development of the area bounded by I-35, Airport Blvd, E. 7th Street and Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. Initial funding came from the City of Austin, with additional funding coming from private developers and others interested in supporting the ARA. Projects that the ARA has developed include the Haehnel Building, Victory Grill, Eleven East, Legacy Estates and Urdy Plaza.
