Cantrell, Clyde Hull
Born in 1906 in Caroleen, North Carolina, Cantrell earned A.B., M.A., and B.L.S. degrees from the University of North Carolina, and a Ph. D. from the University of Illinois in 1960. He was a librarian at the University of North Carolina Library, 1930-1943, library director at Birmingham Southern College, 1943-1944, and Auburn University Libraries director, 1944-1973. He retired as professor of foreign langauges in 1977.
