Charles W. Lund was born on July 12, 1916, the son of Charles E. and Hattie N. Lund of Edgerton, Wisconsin. He had three siblings: June, Donald, and Marjory. Lund, a carpenter, joined the United States Army around November 1942. He trained at the Limited Service School, Camp McCoy, Wisconsin; at Fort McClellan, Alabama; at the Mississippi Ordnance Plant near Jackson, Mississippi; and at Camp Forest, Tennessee. From February 1944-August 1945 he served in England, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany with the 610th Ordnance Battalion. Charles W. Lund died on June 27, 1997.
