Jackson, Samuel, 1765-1824
Samuel Jackson was born on January 21, 1765. In 1791, he resided in Catawissa, Columbia Co., Pa. For the period of time covered by these account books, he appears to have operated a general store in Northumberland Co., Pa. A few years before the War of 1812, Jackson moved to York, now Toronto, Canada, where he invested money in a real estate. Jackson was married to Hannah J. Davis; they had nine sons and two daughters. He died on December 11, 1824.
