Civilian Conservation Corps (U.S.). Advisory Council to the Director.
Established in 1933 to provide employment in public works for young men, mostly in forestry, soil erosion, and road projects. The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) also participated in the national defense program from 1940 to its termination in 1943.
