George A. Prescott was born on March 6, 1913, at Tawas City. A graduate from Western Reserve Academy and Michigan State University, where he received his A.B. in 1935, Prescott was elected to the state House of Representatives in 1966 and 1968. Prescott's grandfather, George A. Prescott was a state senator and secretary of state and his uncle, Charles T. Prescott, was a state senator. Prescott also worked as a real estate broker, and served as Iosco County Supervisor, 1947-51, and County Clerk, 1951-66. Other professional and social activities include membership in the Baptist Church, president of the Michigan Association of County Clerks, Iosco County Fair, Dairy Herd Improvement Association, and charter member of Northeastern Michigan Hereford Cald Association. Prescott is the father of five children.
