Robert Richardson, born Apr. 20, 1926, resides in Saginaw, Mich. In 1950, he graduated from the University of Michigan, where he received his LLLB in 1951. In 1952, he was elected a Circuit Court Commissioner. From 1953 to 1956, he acted as administrative assistant to Congressman Alvin Bently. Richardson was an assistant U.S. attorney from 1957-1958, and a prosecuting attorney (Saginaw County) from 1959-1963. In 1963, he became Civil Counsel for Saginaw County and held this position until his election to the State Senate in 1964 from the 35th District. He remained in the Senate until 1974.
