Frederick W. Plumb (1801-1877) and Huldah Seymour Landon Plumb (1806-1854) of Litchfield, Conn., had five children: John L. Plumb (1831-1906), Seth F. Plumb (1836-1864), Lemira E. Plumb (1838-1909), William H. Plumb (1840-1916), and Charles E. Plumb (1845-1913). Charles E. Plumb became a traveling salesman, living for a period of years in Philadelphia and eventually settling in Harwich, Mass. He married first Emma L. Camp (1849-1914) and second Almira B. Underwood (1860-1905).
