Claude Tipp Hall (1895-1972), a native of Person County, N.C., participated in the development of many farm programs. He is best known for his activities in the credit field and the fluecured tobacco program in North Carolina. He was president of the Person County Farm Bureau, member of the County Board of Education, chairman of the Person Production and Marketing Administration Committee (later to become ASCS), and member of the State Grange Tobacco Committee.
