MidSouth Aquatic Plant Management Society.
MAPMS (org. acronym) begin in 1979 when various federal, state, and private agencies in Alabama met at Auburn University to examine solutions to aquatic weed management problems. In 1982 group organized under current name and held first annual meeting. Affiliated with Auburn University Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Plant Management Society.
