Whitney, B.
B. Whitney left New York on November 9, 1816, for an extended visit to Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. He traveled primarily by steamboat and stage, and returned to New York around November 26. Whitney carried a letter of introduction to the British consul.
