Dr. William M. Anderson has authored many books related to baseball including "The Detroit Tigers: A Pictorial Celebration of the Greatest Players and Moments in Tigers History." Anderson holds three degrees: a bachelor of arts from Michigan State University, a masters of arts from Central Michigan University, and a Ph.D. from Southern Illinois University. In 2001, Dr. Anderson became the director of the Michigan Department for History, Arts and Libraries. Prior to working for the State of Michigan, he served as a community college president of Carl Sandberg College (Illinois) and West Shore Community College (Michigan). Dr. Anderson retired from state service in 2008.
