U.S. Army Medical Corps, Chief of Surgery, Tuskegee Veterans Adminsitration Hospital (1948-1958), first African American physician at Atlanta's Grady Memorial Hospital and later its medical director, former professor of surgery at Emory University; active in many health-related community organizations.
