Romilly, Samuel, 1757-1818
Variant namesRomilly, an English lawyer and law reformer, practiced mainly on the Chancery side. He served as Solicitor General in All-the-Talents Administration (1806), and secured repeal of an Elizabethan statute making it a capital offense to steal from a person (1808).
