Founded in 1947, Educational Testing Service (ETS) develops, administers and scores millions of educational tests. In addition, ETS conducts educational research, analysis and policy studies, and provides services for students, parents and institutions. Located outside Princeton, New Jersey, ETS is the world's largest private educational testing and assessment nonprofit organization. Created in 1947 by three nonprofit educational institutions and testing services, the American Council on Education, The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, and The College Entrance Examination Board, ETS was developed to take over the operation of the Cooperative Test Service of the American Council of Education. Some of the tests administered by ETS include the Graduate Record Examination (GRE), Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), College Level Examination Program (CLEP), Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), and Test of English for International Communications (TOEIC).
