Born 1879 in Iuka, Mississippi; educated at Iuka Normal Institute and Columbia University; taught in several Mississippi rural and high schools; instructor and chair of the History Dept. at the University of Southern Mississippi (1921-1929); president of the Mississippi Education Association; participant in the 1926 Carnegie Endowment for International Peace European Study Tour; died December 7, 1939.
