Bertha Armenta Drew Harris of Raleigh, North Carolina was a student of the North Carolina College for Women (now The University of North Carolina at Greensboro), graduating in 1923 with a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts. During her time as a student at the college, Harris was a member of the Cornelian Society, the House of Representatives, Spanish Club, and French Club. She was also a Class Critic and a Proctor.
