Doris Jones Huffman was a certified public accountant by trade, but her life's passion was historical research and genealogy. She was born in Newberg, Oregon on January 10, 1922, a sixth-generation Yamhill County Oregonian, and worked for 30 years in Oak Grove. Her parents, Emory Jones and Elva O. (Parrish) Jones, were of English and Oregon pioneer stock. Mrs. Huffman's strong sense of family identity facilitated a lifetime commitment to her community through the Chehalem Valley Heritage Association, Daughters of the American Revolution, Fernwood Pioneer Cemetery Association and the Oregon Historical Society. Mrs. Huffman died September 15, 1997.
