Established in 1940 by the Joint Peace and Service Committee of the New York Monthly Meetings, the Workroom, a sewing room, served the world in its relief efforts by its production of garments for needy children during World War II and later expanding to include Greece, Nigeria and other locations world-wide until December 31, 1976.
