Ophthalmologist (b. 1915). Milder received his medical degree from Washington University in 1939. He co-authored The Fine Art of Prescribing Glasses Without Making a Spectacle of Yourself, first published in 1978 and now in its 3rd edition, and authored On the shoulders of giants: the story of the Washington University Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, published in 1997. He has also written books of poetry. Milder is currently Professor Emeritus of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the Washington University School of Medicine.
