Close, Robert S. (Robert Shaw), 1903-1995
Variant namesRobert Close has written eight books, mostly novels. He is best known for his 1945 novel Love me, sailor which was banned for obscenity and resulted in the trial and conviction of Close and his publisher. After living abroad for 25 years Close returned to Australia in 1977.
