Herron, Mary L. (Mary Louise), 1834-1863
Variant namesMary Louise Browning was born on July 18, 1834, in Petersham, Massachusetts to Asaph and Lois Hastings Browning. She attended public schools in Springfield, Massachusetts and taught in Chelsea. She attended Mount Holyoke Seminary in 1855 (x1857). She did not graduate, but sailed for India as a missionary in July of 1855. She married David Herron in April of 1857, and they had four children in India. She founded a school which became the United Church of North India Girls High School in Dehra Dun, where she died on November 25, 1863.
