McDonald, Duncan, 1849-1937

Duncan McDonald was born at Fort Connah, on Post Creek, a tributary of the Flathead River, in what is now Montana, in March 1849. He was the son of Angus McDonald, post trader for the Hudson's Bay Company, and a Nez Percé woman whose name is unknown. Duncan was an authority on Nez Percé and Selish tribal history. He died in 1937
