Fujioka was born in 1878; a native of Aomori Prefecture, he arrived in the US in 1897; attended Columbia Univ.; was a journalist for various Japanese language newspapers in the US, including the Nyûyôku shimpô (New York), the Hokubei jiji (Seattle), and the Rafu shimpô (Los Angeles); president, Nanka Chûô Nihonjin Kai (Central Japanese Association of Southern California), 1919-20; died in 1957.
