Hide Profile

Aliciam, named in honor of the poet, essayist, and critic Alice Meynall, was an honorary literary society at the College of Saint Rose from 1930 to 1977. In 1966, the club's name was changed to the Literary Society, and in 1977 it was dissolved due to lack of interest. The club's first officers were Monica Banigan, president; Helen Walsh, vice president; Nan Maginn, secretary; and Helen Wheeler, treasurer. Sister John Joseph Moran founded Alician, and administered it until she retired. In 1966, Sister Jeanne Pierre Mittnight took over administrative duties.
