Ronald L. Austin was born in 1934 in Los Angeles. He worked in television as a writer, producer, and director. He wrote and directed numerous screenplays for a variety of television shows and television movies, and was noted for his work in writing and producing episodes of "Charlie's Angels" and "Mission Impossible" in the mid-1970s for Twentieth Century-Fox Television. He often shared responsibility as director with James D. Buchanan, particularly in the "Charlie's Angels" television series. He was a board member of the Writer's Guild of America, West which provided screenplay registration. In the early 1980s Austin produced "Q. E.D." in the United Kingdom.
