Carrington family.
The Carrington family were members of a pioneer Newark Family, descendants of three of the founders of Newark who came here with Robert Treat in 1666. One descendant, Roger Sherman, was a signer of the Declaration of Independence. More than ten generations of the Carrington family have resided in the city of Newark.
