Dresner, Jacob.

Jacob Dresner (1883-1976) and Joseph Dresner (1885-1967) were natives of Przemsyl, Austria. Their parents were Helen Glass and Henry Dresner; the family emigrated to New Orleans in the late nineteenth century. Jacob Dresner graduated from New Orleans Boys High School in 1900 and Tulane University Law School in 1906, and practiced law in New Orleans. Joseph Dresner graduated from New Orleans Boys High School in 1902, studied business at Tulane University, and was active in the development of local sports teams and events, e.g., as a charter member of the Sugar Bowl, president of the Boxing Committee of the Southern Association of the AAU, and president of the Kiwanis Club. The Gordon sisters were New Orleans philanthropists and suffragettes.
