Julia Sanderson, musical comedy star from the early 1900's to the 1920's was born in Springfield, Massachusetts.

She began her career with the Shuberts and became a star under the management of Charles Frohman. She also worked with Charles Dillingham. Some of her most famous roles include, THE SUNSHINE GIRL; RAMBLER ROSE; HITCHY-KOO and TANGERINE. She married Frank Crumit in 1927 and retired from the stage in 1928. She and her husband became radio stars in the 1930's and remained so until Crumit's death in 1943. She retired to her estate in Longmeadow, Massachusetts and died in Springfield in 1975.
