Born August 9, 1907, New York, N.Y. Grew up in Charleston, S.C. In 1935 married the former Eleanor Mason Smith of New York City. Their address is 4926 Rockwood Parkway, N.W., Washington, D. C. They have one daughter, Anne Timothy Tinker, a graduate of Vassar College.
