Joseph Hardy Neesima was born Feb. 15, 1843. Graduated Amherst College, 1968. Ordained in 1874, he founded Doshisha University with Kakuma Yamamota in Kyoto, Japn in 1874. He died Jan. 23, 1890.
Kanzō Uchimura was born Mar. 18, 1861. He graduated (B.S.) from the Imperial College of Agriculture, Sapporo, Japan in 1881 and from Amherst College in 1887. He died Mach 28, 1930 in Tokyo, Japan.
