Woodworth, Lydia Sessions, 1833-1912

Lydia Sessions was born in South Wilbraham (now Hampden), MA in 1833. She attended Monson Academy in South Wilbraham before entering Mount Holyoke Seminary. Sessions began teaching at Mount Holyoke following her graduation in 1856. In 1859 Sessions became the first Principal of Lake Erie Female Seminary in Plainsville, Ohio. Sessions left the school when she married Rev. William Walter Woodworth in 1866. Lydia Sessions Woodworth died February 9, 1912.
